Presently, there is limited funding to prove the efficacy of the low-laser therapy for smoking cessation, because the clinical research trials are not government sponsored. Clinical trials are being paid for by smokers taking part in the study. I would love it, if a large corporation stepped in to help the industry statisically prove laser therapy is working. It is very costly to obtain this type of data. I would estimate that 200,000 people have already been treated in the United States over the past 4.5 years.
The negative media reports came about from clinics publicizing that laser therapy works, when in fact you can only advertise “laser therapy may work.” Most laser therapy clinics have since changed their advertising campaigns to insure they are following FDA guidelines.
It was a shame, because these old media reports may have discouraged a smoker from not attempting a quit smoking procedure which may have ultimately helped them quit.
Freedom Laser Therapy has teamed up with one of the pioneers of this laser therapy technology who is responsible for treating directly or indirectly 100,000 smokers over a 25-year period. Is it possible to dupe that many people over a time period like that?
Freedom has operated for over 2 years without investing money into television, radio, or print advertising. Our clients who have succeeded in quitting smoking have referred their friends or family members. Common sense would lead any intelligent person to believe there is a benefit here for smokers attempting to quit. I can speak for most of the industry that individuals involved with laser therapy have a deep desire to help people and many have actually used the procedure to quit smoking themselves, and that’s why they got into the industry to help others.
In 35 years of usage, there has never been any serious adverse reactions ever been reported. My advice for critics on whether this is fraud or not. Focus the attention on the addictive product being sold, not companies trying to help people get free from it.
Anyone who is interested in personally speaking with me about this I’ll be happy to convey what I’ve learned about laser therapy. Our goal is to help people quit smoking, laser therapy is just one of the resources available, and the one we choose to use.
